What Next Adventure is

Next Adventure (“the platform”, “we”) is a service at nextadventure.gr where you can discover events, publish your own, say you are going, comment and follow other members.

Events are created and organized by members of the community. We provide the place where you meet. We are not organizers and we do not take part in the events.

Acceptance and changes

When you create an account or use the platform, you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. For what is stored on your device, see the Cookie Policy.

We may change the terms, for example when we add new features or the law changes. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed. For changes in substance we will tell you on the platform before they apply. If you keep using it after that, we take it that you accept them. If not, you can delete your account.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • Give true details and an email you control. Don’t pretend to be someone else.
  • Your account is personal and cannot be transferred.
  • Keeping your password and account secure is your responsibility. If you suspect someone else is using it, tell us at once.
  • You can sign up and sign in with your Google account. The same terms apply then.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. What happens then is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Your content

Content is whatever you publish: events, text, photos, comments and the details of your profile.

Your content stays yours. For the platform to work, you give us a non-exclusive, free licence to store it, show it and distribute it on the platform and in link previews (when someone shares an event). The licence covers technical adjustments, such as resizing and compressing images and adding the Next Adventure logo to event images. It ends when the content is removed from the platform, except for backups, which are deleted over time.

You confirm that you have the right to publish what you publish: that the text and photos are yours or you have permission to use them, and that they do not infringe the rights or the privacy of others.

Events, comments, the list of people who say they are going and your profile are visible to everyone, even to people without an account. Don’t write there anything you don’t want to be public.

If you create an event from a link, its details are filled in automatically and may contain mistakes. Check them before you publish, and only use pages, text and images you have the right to use.

You can delete your comments and archive your events at any time.

Events and meetups

We do not organize the events, and we do not check in advance whether what they say (date, place, price, safety) is right. We are not responsible for an event, its organizer or the people who take part.

If you organize an event, you are responsible for:

  • the accuracy of the information you publish, and for telling the people taking part if something changes or is cancelled,
  • any permits, insurance and approvals the law or the venue may require,
  • the safety and good conduct of the meetup.

An event can be public, private (hidden from the lists and from search engines, but open to anyone with the link) or invite-only. When you invite someone by email, we send the address you give a message with a personal link. Only invite people you know or who have reason to expect your invitation, and don’t give addresses you are not entitled to use. Private or invite-only does not mean confidential: anyone with the link or the invitation can pass it on.

If you take part in an event, you do so at your own risk. When you meet people you don’t know, prefer public places, tell someone close to you where you are going and go with company when you can.

For now the platform does not handle payments or tickets. Whatever an organizer and the people taking part agree happens outside the platform and concerns only you.

Community rules

To keep the platform pleasant and safe, the following are not allowed:

  • Illegal content, or events that promote illegal activities.
  • Harassment, threats, bullying, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other characteristic.
  • Nudity, sexual or violent content, and anything that puts minors at risk.
  • Publishing other people’s personal details without their consent, such as phone numbers, addresses or photos.
  • Fake or misleading events, scams, spam and unsolicited advertising, including through email invitations.
  • Impersonation, and second accounts to get around a ban.
  • Attempts to break into or overload the platform, mass automated collection of data, or access to other people’s accounts.

Events with alcohol, nightlife or dating are for adults (18+) only and must say so.

Reports and moderation

We do not check all content before it is published, but we can review it, hide it or remove it, and restrict or ban accounts, when the terms or the law are broken or the safety of the community requires it. An organizer can also delete comments under the events they organize.

Where possible and allowed by law, we will tell you about the decision and the reason for it. If you disagree, get in touch with us and we will review it.

If you see content that is illegal or breaks the terms, get in touch with us with the page’s link and a short explanation. We will look into it as soon as we can.

What belongs to us

The name, logo, design and code of Next Adventure belong to us or to their rights holders. We give you the right to use the platform personally and in line with these terms. You may not copy or exploit them without our permission.

If you believe content on the platform infringes your rights, for example your intellectual property, get in touch with us with the link and a description of your right.

We may use suggestions and ideas you send us freely, with no obligation to you.

Availability and third-party services

We try to keep the platform working properly, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. There may be interruptions for maintenance or because of faults, and we may change, add or remove features.

The platform uses third-party services, such as Google for sign-in and maps. Their own terms apply to them too. We do not control the external web pages that members’ links may lead to.

Limitation of liability

The platform is provided free of charge and “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for damage arising from members’ content or conduct, from events organized by others, or from interruptions and errors of the service.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for intent or gross negligence, or the rights the law gives you as a consumer that cannot be excluded by agreement.

If you break the terms and cause damage to us or to others, you are liable under the law.

Ending your use

You can stop using the platform and delete your account at any time from Settings. When you delete it, your profile, photo and email are deleted. Your events, attendance answers and comments remain without your details, as “Deleted user”. If you want any of them removed, delete or archive it first, or ask us.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks the terms, and in serious cases without prior notice.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Greek law. Disputes arising from them are for the Greek courts, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer.

Before anything else, get in touch with us: most disagreements are solved with a conversation. As a consumer you can also turn to the Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman.

If any term is found to be invalid, the rest still apply.
